Confirmation
Confirmation marks the point in the Christian journey where those who have been baptised as children make a firm commitment to Christian discipleship during a special service led by a local Bishop. For adults who haven’t been baptised as children, a single service of Baptism and Confirmation usually takes place.
Through prayer and the laying on of hands by the bishop, the Church also asks God to give those being confirmed power, through the Holy Spirit, to live the life of discipleship. It is a very moving moment that many of us can remember very clearly even decades later!
If you are interested in being confirmed, please contact the Vicar, Rev David Ford on 0115 963 3490. He will invite you to join a Confirmation Course which culminates in a service of Confirmation. This is a good way to explore your faith with others who are thinking about confirmation and is a safe place to ask any questions you have about God, Jesus and the journey of faith.
